Courtney Pulitzer is a writer, publisher, public relations professional, and entrepreneur whose career has been defined by a singular instinct: finding the people and stories at the center of what’s happening next.

She came of age professionally in New York’s emerging dot-com scene, where she began as a web designer before stepping into the role of reporter and columnist for @NY, one of the era’s most widely read industry publications. Her column, @The Scene, chronicled the personalities and companies shaping “Silicon Alley” — and quickly grew into one of the publication’s most-followed sections. In 1998, she launched Courtney Pulitzer’s Cyber Scene, her own weekly newsletter dedicated to the events, trends, and people driving the Internet industry. At its peak, the newsletter reached more than 75,000 readers, with a significant pass-along readership that extended its reach well beyond that number.

Building on the energy of her growing network, Courtney created Cocktails with Courtney — a personally branded, high-level networking event series that became a fixture of the tech and media world. What began as a monthly gathering in New York City expanded to 16 cities across the United States and traveled internationally, with events in London and Cannes and plans underway for Stockholm, Paris, and beyond. She also produced the first — and subsequent annual — Silicon Alley Black-Tie Benefit, with proceeds dedicated to helping high schools bridge the digital divide.

Through her company, Courtney Pulitzer Creations, she grew her practice into a full operation, managing a staff of five alongside a team of national and international freelance reporters. The company’s offerings expanded to include Cyber Scene TV, a web-based show covering tech companies, people, and culture, as well as seminars and educational programming. Her work and her events earned major coverage in print, television, and online media internationally, and attracted clients including IBM, Microsoft, Oracle, Morgan Stanley, Warner Brothers, and Business Week, among others.

Her writing and commentary have been featured in Yahoo! Internet Life, The Washington Post, San Francisco Chronicle, Time Out New York, AlleyCat News, Hamptons Country, Flatiron Magazine, and Empire State Report, among other publications.

In 2002, Courtney stepped back from the pace of New York to pursue personal growth and a new chapter — relocating to Paris, where she deepened her French, got married, had a son, and continued producing events through a French-American association. She has since made her home in Tucson, Arizona, a city she finds rich with creativity, community, and possibility. True to form, she has wasted no time making it her own — relaunching Cocktails with Courtney in Tucson, bringing her signature brand of high-level, warmly curated networking back to life in the desert, and returning to the stage as an actress, reigniting a creative passion that has always run alongside her professional life.

Today, Courtney brings her full range of experience — in writing, events, media, public relations, and storytelling — to Courtney Pulitzer Creations and to collaborative projects that connect people and ideas in meaningful ways.

Her newest work, Saying Bye-Bye to Mama’s Milk: A Gentle Weaning Story — coming this summer — reflects perhaps her most personal chapter yet: a children’s book born from her own experience as a mother, created to support families navigating one of early childhood’s most tender transitions.
